Consumer Protection Law and Debt Collection Proceedings Webinar
The COVID-19 pandemic forced the extended closure of many Michigan businesses and devastated Michigan’s economy. With one in six Michigan citizens seeking unemployment compensation, many citizens are in dire fiscal situations. As a result, Michigan district and municipal courts may see an influx of consumer debt disputes and debt collection proceedings. This webinar offers judges an update on the legal requirements for the collection of debts and best practices for ensuring both parties participate in the hearing and have an opportunity to present their cases.
